There are three medical diseases that attribute to half of all the deaths caused by infectious diseases and they are AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis. Combined, these medical diseases cause more than 5 million deaths each year.
Aids is an infectious disease that is incurable and fatal. AIDS attacks and destroys the immune system, leaving people defenseless against illness. It is one of the most feared medical diseases in history. Another one of the most common infectious diseases is malaria. Malaria is a mosquito-borne disease that causes about 2 million deaths a year. It is found in about 90 countries and most cases are found in sub Saharan Africa. Most of the victims of malaria are children.
